Escape room style activity for STAAR review
This activity is a puzzle based, escape room style challenge activity where students receive clues, answer questions from released STAAR tests, get hints, and try to beat the clock to escape an alien ship.
I used a paired text from the 2017 5th grade released reading STAAR, it would be easy to simply delete the questions and have them complete questions from another grade level or even another subject.
They basically get a puzzle, then must answer 3 STAAR questions before you give them a hint

Transformations Discovery Activity
This is a discovery activity dealing with transformations of absolute value graphs, constant graphs, linear graphs, and quadratic graphs. Students will use sliders on Desmos Online Graphing Calculator to see how each variable affects the parent graph of a function. Investing in the Stock Market
This project was created for a consumer math class. It has the students selecting 3 stocks, and buying different amounts based on their budget (I chose budgets and had them draw from a hat). Students will then track the 3 stocks for a month (I have them back track dates on Yahoo! Finance's History tab), and then graphing their gains or losses.
