A project for any student who has learned triangle trigonometry. Students design an A frame house to certain specifications and within a certain budget. Costs for various aspects of the home are given. Students must calculate floor space, framing, roofing, foundation size, etc. This project makes a good multiple day homework assignment. This hands on activity is student centered and student led and allows the students to investigate and discover volume of rectangular prisms. For this activity, the students can use snap cubes to complete the project. There is a hint on the bottom of the project to help the students complete it. For this project, the teacher is just there to facilitate and give leading questions. The students can work in teams and arrive at the correct answer in many ways.

Group Transformations (Geometric Transformations)
Use this activity to help students realize real life transformations on a graph on the classroom floor using tiles. Place tape (I used painter's tape) on the floor of your classroom utilizing your tiles as your coordinate plane. Have students make their own rule for each transformation.
