In a world where reading is pushed so hard on students that many are losing their love of reading it is IMPORTANT to give them opportunities to read that are fun. Reader's Theater does this. This is a small group readers theater for 4 people. It is based on the way Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated. Students are always curious about how other people celebrate the same holiday. Jack Fox & the Leprechaun - Small Group Reader's Theater
This is a small group reader's theater. It was written for four people. This is based on an Irish fairy tale. Jack Fox is a normal farmer who manages to find a leprechaun on his way home one day. He knows the story of how tricky they are and is careful never to look away from the little man. Finally, the leprechaun agrees to take him to his gold but Jack still never gets his hands on it. Not Every Rainbow has a Pot of Gold - Reader's Theater
This reader's Theater is for a small group of four students. It is about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and I use it for Saint Patrick's Day. The children see a rainbow and Elizabeth wants them to go look for the pot of gold at the end. Thomas doesn’t believe in fairies, leprechauns, and pots of gold but Marty and Melanie aren’t sure. The Three Wishes - Small Group Reader's Theater
This reader's theater was created for four students. I have used this script with my third graders but it was for a higher group. This script is used around Saint Patrick's Day and involves a leprechaun. A leprechaun appears out of nowhere to grant Sally, Pat, and Brian three wishes in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day.
