Ping Pong Ball Launcher Project and Rubric

Statue of Liberty Proportions Project
Combine finding proportions with English class for this fun week long project. Students will figure out the length of the Statue of Liberty's arm by using proportions of their own bodies in small groups. They will learn about the proportions of the body and also research some interesting facts about the Statue of Liberty. Packet comes with instructions, guidelines, notes and charts. This scavenger hunt requires students to locate 16 different types of graphs. Vocabulary terms are also included, such as "Measures of Central Tendency", "extrapolation," etc. Optional, supplemental, as well as evaluation tools are included. Mathematics Research Project
This is a great end of year research project for any math course at a multitude of grade levels! From start to end of presentations, this project took me two weeks to complete - I give specific dates for each goal and give a grade for completion of each goal. The points I gave are listed on the information sheet. I created this in Word and it can be edited to fit your classroom and your needs. Students are asked to research a famous mathematician, write a research paper and give a presentation.
