Algebra Marketing Plan PBL | project based learning | real world Math
This Project Based Learning activity will help Algebra 1 students practice setting up and solving systems of linear equations within a real world context. As they take on the role of an entrepreneur, they will write equations, plot coordinate points, graph equations, analyze data, and draw conclusions. Sink or Swim Systems of Equations Project
This project is based on a popular television show where entrepreneurs share their clever ideas and business plans in hopes of attracting a ‘shark’ to invest in their company! This project outlines all the steps necessary, in detail, for students to not only create their own business, but develop a plan for it to be successful. Students will create materials lists, evaluate costs, use systems of equations to determine when their business is profitable, set reasonable goals for their company us

Systems of Equations - Comparing Phone Plans Project
Students are guided through a phone comparison. Then students will research plans and compare them in groups. This activity also includes 4 different homework problems similar to the phone comparison but related to other fields.
This project can be performed in any class studying solving systems of equations.
In the past, I have had the groups present their findings on a third day.
