Students cut out the ovals and rectangles, color them, then glue themtogether to make a music note. Each student gets two of each so they can choose if they want a quarter note or an eighth note pair. There is an option to print a music staff and not cut it out OR to print the lines on black paper and cut them out. I print on black paper so I can create a piece of music on the wall! There is also a treble and bass clef.

Kindergarten Simple Rhythm Composition

This is a final composition project for Kindergarteners who have learned to read/count simple rhythms with the Kodaly method and match rhythms to words syllabically. Students will create their own 4 beat rhythm composition and practice writing the Kodaly names for the rhythms beneath their pictures. Students will also match rhythms syllabically to words creating a small rhythm rap.
