Radial Symmetry
In this project, students can demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts such as symmetry, patterns, and angles by creating artwork based on a radially symmetric design. In addition to practicing visual and critical thinking skills, additional connections can also be made to world cultures and religions by introducing mandalas from Buddhism and Hinduism, as well as stained glass rose windows from European Gothic architecture.
