All they will need is a double sided ruler to find items and measure them using both CUSTOMARY AND METRIC units of length! Students can record their findings in fraction form labeling the unit of measure correctly. FOLLOW-UP ASSIGNMENT: CONVERTING FRACTIONS TO DECIMALS After completing their graphic organizer, students can convert their fractions to decimals to extend and enrich the lesson.

This is a task rotation for my intro chapter to 8th grade math. I do a combination of fractions and geometry formulas. Give each station roughly 10 minutes to work on each problem. For station 3 it might help to pre tape the two cylinders to cut down on that time for students and to give them more time to work.
