DBQ: Opium and the Anglo-Chinese Wars, 1839-1842 and 1856-1860
Students will formulate an argument defending, attacking, or qualifying the statement that the British wars in China during the late 17th century were justified by commercial interests and expansionism. Students will use primary and secondary documents provided in the lesson to locate evidence that supports their position.
