Rosalind Franklin was a British chemist working in X-ray crystallography. Her work with imaging resulted in the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA. She was, unfortunately not credited with this discovery and American biologist James Watson and British physicist Francis Crick eventually received Nobel Prizes for the discovery.
