This novel was written for young people (the author has stated that her target audience was 12 year olds-native speakers of Spanish) so it is a manageable challenge for upper-level Spanish students. I have read this novel with my AP Spanish Language classes for many years and they always enjoy it and are proud to have read and understood a full novel in Spanish.
