Middle school basic operations activities for Microsoft Publisher
Spending Money; Special Ed Life Skills Math; Matching Coins to Prices
This cut and paste coin worksheet is modified from the middle school number relationships and computation curriculum. It is excellent for special education students who require an alternate or modified curriculum.
Students begin by cutting out the 6 boxes on the second page. These have an item, the name of the item, and a price, all under $1.00.
Next, students count the 6 sets of coins shown on the first page. They are to match the set of coins with the item they can buy with those coins.

Divisibility Dollars Game (A Game Using the Divisibility Rules)
In this game, students will practice using the divisibility rules. When students land on a number on the game board, they must decide, by using the divisibility rules, whether that number is divisible by the number they spun on the spinner. If yes, they collect divisibility dollars. The person with the most divisibility dollars wins! You can spice up this activity by allowing students to buy prizes with the dollars they have won!

Multi-step equation task cards
This activity consists of 20 multi-step equation task cards. These cards range in difficulty and would be best used at the beginning of a unit after a few days of introduction for practice. They can be used as a pass the problem activity with groups or hung up around the room for a get out of your seat activity. X 5 multiplication book
This multiplication book I made for the end of the year when we were leaning about multiplication and arrays. I had the kids draw (like an array), add, and multiply each equation. When I made the books I copied the cover on construction paper. Then I copied the set of equations and cut them in 2 and then staple on the left hand side the construction paper cover and back. This cuts down on copies. I try to copy all of the covers for the different multiples on different colored construction paper.

It is a great tool to assess student's fluency for addition, subtraction, or multiplication. You may hand out page and give them a number and they write it in the center of the donuts then they have to add it to all numbers and write the answer on the outside of the empty spaces in the donuts. As students master a number fact you may track it and keep going on to the next number and you may use it to track data and see the how they progress.
