TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching 26 years in an urban district in New Jersey. I have taught both monolingual and bilingual classes. Currently have been teaching kindergarten for 19 yrs. Began my teaching career in 1st grade and did one year in 2nd.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to create a learning environment where students feel respected, safe, encouraged and loved. I want them to feel welcomed and to be excited to be part of our classroom community. I believe in empowering students to take ownership of their learning and to learn to persevere. My passion is to keep learning and finding best practices to meet the needs of every student that comes into my classroom. I love creating lessons that make standards clear and easy for my ELLs to understand but at the same time are engaging and rigorous.
