TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've never left the classroom. I got a job at a private school while in college as an aide in K-2 classrooms. Taught 6-8 Core, English and Social Studies when I got my credential, and have now taught 9-12 English for the last 25 years. I've been in school my whole life.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I run a discussion-centered classroom. Students are engaged and focused on a text (a word, a quote, a poem, a frame of film, a short clip or a whole novel or movie--TEXT is widely defined!) We read, discuss and write. Class discussion is where the magic happens.
