The ELAR Way

I'm a third year teacher in Texas. I teach English Language Arts & Reading. I've taught 6th grade through 8th grade. I'm currently teaching 6th grade. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with my master's degree in education. My students pass the state-wide STAAR assessment with 70% average. I use creativity and passion to guide me to teach my students. I'm currently a gifted teacher.

I have a hybrid teaching style. I balance between facilitating the classroom discussion and then providing students with an opportunities to have student centered learning. I use numerous student engagement strategies and allow students to collaborate and have discussions with each other.
