With over 20 years of teaching in the public education system, Kat enjoys her current assignment as a special education teacher servicing students from K to Grade 8. She supports both students and teachers with program modifications and individualized learning plans.
Having taught split/combined grades for years with students with varying abilities from gifted to special needs, Kat has spent her summers developing units and activities to meet the needs of all learners. This prior planning and has allowed her to have a relaxed teaching style when in the classroom with student booklets and units that are ready to roll. It is her hope that with these well thought out step-by-step units, that you too will be able to focus on the needs of students rather than scrambling to find the right materials.
Her greatest honor was receiving a card from a student on the last day of class that read, "You and the people in my class make me feel like I have another family in my life and you make me feel like a man of wisdom and knowledge so I hope you know how much we like you . You're a great teacher I hope I get you next year." After reading this student's card, she knew she had done her job that year.
Educated in Quebec, Ontario and New York, The Educationist holds a B.A. and a M.Ed.
