Hello there! Thank's for stopping by! My name is Julie, I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a Master of Education in Applied Behavior Analysis. Born in England, my career began as a Mental Health Nurse before moving to the United States with my family. I have over 25 years of mental and behavioral health experience in medical and educational settings. I've been told that my superpower is my ability to connect. With this, I help learners of all ages identify and cultivate their strengths, nurture curiosity and kindness, and be inspired and empowered to learn to navigate the world guided by their values. My SEL book, Lotus Flowers and Superpowers (published in 2023) was written amidst and in response to a global pandemic and children's mental health crisis. The goal is to engage readers in an imaginative, relatable, and playful way with mindfulness and the core concepts of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); to promote emotional flexibility and maximize their potential for a rich, meaningful, value-driven life. When I'm not writing, consulting with school districts, or sipping tea in my comfy spot by the Koi pond in Ohio, you can catch me with my sketchbook and binoculars in hand, exploring the forests and marshlands of South Carolina.
