TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Writing engaging lessons and revealing assessments is one of the things I really love about being a teacher. One of my favorite side jobs has been coaching math teachers on curriclum and instruction. I've done that for Arizona's Department of Education and Cambridge International. It's a blast because I also love to share my experiences and resources. That's what this is all about. I have a website, onteachingmath.org, please check it out. There's a lot of resources for teachers and students there. I have taught every level of math from basic arithmetic to calculus to all variety of students. That includes middle school math, remedial math to adults, calculus, IB mathematics, Cambridge IGCSE, and all variety of classes offered in High School and Community College.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am truly a student-centered teacher. I guide and direct some of the avenues of exploration, but that is only to prevent us from chasing down rabbit holes that lead nowhere. I am more of a facilitator than a teacher and I empower my students to take charge of their learning.
