TEACHING EXPERIENCE

While I have spent time in the Early Childhood classroom, my passion for teaching lies in upper-level English classes. I am currently an AP and Concurrent Credit Instructor at the local high school and a member of the adjunct faculty at our local community college where I teach Comp I and II. I also teach American Literature.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Having spent time in both the early childhood and secondary classrooms, I tend to incorporate books for younger readers into my secondary classroom to clarify difficult concepts in novels. This approach has proven beneficial, especially in my regular English classes, as it helps those who struggle with complex subjects.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I currently hold 2 AP College Board-endorsed certifications through the University of Arkansas: AP English Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I possess a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Master's in Education, with double minors in English and History.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I currently hold Arkansas teaching certifications in: English Language Arts 7-12 Journalism 7-12 Early Childhood Education PK-4 Middle Childhood Language Arts/Social Studies 4-8 Middle Childhood Math/Science 4-8 At the post-secondary level, I may teach course in English, Oral Communications and Education.
