I taught 3rd grade for five years in a public school setting. I started my career in a Title I school where I fell in love with the creative side of teaching. My students faced unthinkable challenges that impacted their ability to learn significantly. In that space, I was able to foster an environment that met them where they were. I created lessons that were engaging and rigorous. These lessons brought those students to a place of growth and in many cases, proficiency. Before leaving the classroom, I had experience in a completely different demographic. My students were mostly high-achieving and fortunate. That atmosphere allowed me to see education through a vastly different lens. I was challenged to push my students beyond the standard grade-level expectations. Teaching in two very different settings helped me to grow as an educator, and I'm so grateful for both experiences!
My teaching style can be summed up in three words: rigorous, exciting, and intentionality. Rigor: Every child can reach high expectations. My students knew that my expectations were high and there was no other choice but to rise to the occasion. I provided them with the accommodations and the support they needed. They worked hard and found success. Excitement: My lessons are bright, loud, and engaging! No room for boredom in my classroom. Hands-on activities are my favorite. I have students talking, moving, and learning at all times. Intentions: I am a hyper-focused educator. I track data on every student for every standard. I use that data to create valuable lessons to meet their needs and bridge gaps. I don't teach on a whim- I choose lessons, activities, and learning opportunities with intentionality.

I have my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. In 2020 I graduated from Capella University with my MEd in Teaching and Learning. Pursuing a Doctorate in Education is a dream of mine that I hope to see come true!
When I had my daughter in 2022, I realized that it was time for me to step away from the classroom and stay home with her. While being home with my toddler is a blessing, I cannot fully say goodbye to the education world! TPT fills my creative void while paying my bills. So every purchase made from my store gives me another day at home with my daughter!
