What's Included?
This product is a mini unit to teach fractions on a number line. It compares a number line to a racetrack to create a visual for students. Inside you will find 3 Google Slides presentations, 3 check point assessments, and 8 vocabulary cards.
Google Slides - The Google Slides presentation links are located in a PowerPoint file titled ”Google Slides Links.” Three days worth of lessons are included- over 95 slides! The lessons teach kids how to locate fractions and mixed numbers on a number line. It compares the number line to a racetrack to create a visual for students! They will also practice comparing fractions and labeling the number line.
Checkpoint Assessments - The assessments are short, 2-3 question, partial sheets. Assign the designated checkpoint after each lesson to check for understanding before moving forward and guide future instruction. Checkpoints are labeled Days 1, 2, and 3. An answer key is provided.
Vocabulary Cards - The eight vocabulary cards are to be used throughout the unit. This will help bridge any gaps students had from previous lessons with fractions. It will also provide the necessary background knowledge to be successful throughout the unit. They should be printed and displayed for students to refer to during the entire unit.
Who is it for?
This unit fits third grade standards best, but could also be used in a 2nd grade enrichment group or in 4th grade as a review.
