TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi! I wanted to become an opera singer, which I did in a local company, then I taught classroom music. After my kids were born, I went back to school and got my Elementary Ed. license, but, schools needed music teachers, as general ed teachers were overwhelmingly available. I did teach elementary school music for a few years, and then, for a while, worked in transportation. Later, I taught adult ed at two different local colleges as an adjunct. As or late, I've been subbing, and feel I could place my talents elsewhere. So here I am. I think I have some good syllabi and lesson plans to share. I hope you find that true!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have students read, do papers, maps (other unusual projects too). I lecture or 'talk' about the material. As a given course permits, we watch films or I talk through powerpoints that I design. I love to engage the students in discussion and have guest speakers. I love to see students get "IN" to the material!
