Over 13 years experience as a Middle School Math Teacher, and over 6 years experience as a School Volunteer (docent for Fine Arts and Music Program). Prior to teaching, I worked for over 20 years as a Civil Engineer/Project Manager.
I like to use problem based learning in math class to spark curiosity in students along with hands-on/inquiry and visual models. I have been trained in Guided Language Acquisition Design (G.L.A.D.) and have incorporated many GLAD strategies in my teaching practice.
Sandia National Laboratories Excellence in Teaching Award in 2012-2013 school year. Livermore Rotary Club 2017 Teacher of the Year for WMMS.
BSCE Civil Engineering from CSU Chico. Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with Single Subject Math Foundation Level Credential from CSU East Bay.
I love spending time with my family, going camping, canning items from the garden, playing music, knitting, and walking the dogs.
