TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently teaching SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Geometry at a public high school. Previously taught Grade 8 Math/Algebra 1, College Algebra and Pre-Calculus at HS, and Pre-Algebra/Algebra 1 tutoring to ESL HS students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Across multiple schools and grades, I have worked primarily with struggling math students and/or English Language Learners. I make my lessons accessible by using guided notes for organizing new mathematical ideas and relieving some of the language-based cognitive load. I believe that students learn math best by doing, so I incorporate frequent practice and feedback for each new skill being taught, whether the work is being done by students individually or in small groups.
