I am currently a College & Career Counselor for a large public high school. I have also taught grades 4-6 in Colorado, Hawaii, Washington, Guam, and Japan. My husband works for the military, so we've lived all over the world. I've been fortunate enough to have taught the most resilient, welcoming and worldly kids around.
I have a very structured teaching style. I believe that students feel the most comfortable when they know what to expect. I also like to keep parents in the loop as much as possible.
I am so honored to have been able to teach for DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity) in both Japan and Guam. I was also a Captain in the US Army, Transportation Corps - stationed in Germany during Operation Desert Storm.
BA (Political Science-International Relations, German) from UC Santa Barbara; MA (Curriculum & Instruction-emphasis Elementary Math & Science) from University of Colorado Denver; MEd (School Counseling K-12) from Liberty University
I have an amazing husband and two grown kids. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, golf, mountain biking and hiking.
