My biggest goal as a teacher is to involve students in their own learning. We learn about feedback and its importance early on, and practice all year long. Most of my products include peer and self assessments and rubrics to help students accurately assess their own performance or knowledge and set learning goals for success. I also think collaboration is an important tool for learning, so I do a lot of group learning activities. I try never to forget that these are children, and need to learn life and work skills just as much as they need to learn content- maybe even more so!
