I am a Speech-Language Pathologist who has eight years of experience working with special needs students. I currently am employed by the NYC Department of Education, with students who have moderate to severe autism. My school is within the largest special education district in the United States of America.
I enjoy making resources that are adapted for students with different abilities. The most important skills, in my opinion, are ones that will help prepare students for life after school. Promoting independence and pre-vocational skills are crucial to me. My resources are made with student age in mind, and the clip art reflects the grade range that may be using it.
I received the ACE (Award for Continuing Education) from ASHA. Professional development and continuing education are areas that I feel passionate about!
I have a bachelor's degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from Hofstra University which is on Long Island, NY and a master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Queens College! I also worked hard to earn my PROMPT Certification. Additionally, I am certified in Deaf Studies.
