I believe that students are able to learn whatever you put in front of them, as long as the approach to teaching is relevant. I have had success in teaching works by Jane Austen, William Shakespeare, and Robert Browning in a gang ridden, poverty stricken school. It is a matter of breaking it down to the basics and keeping high expectations. It is a challenge worthwhile.
