TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 22 years. Time flies when you're having fun! I have taught kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade, but have spent most of my teaching career in 1st grade. In 2010, I had the honor of being trained at The Ohio State University as a literacy coach. My trainers, Andrea McCarrier and Tina Henry, work along side Gay Su Pinnell to bring best practices in education into our classrooms. I train and coach teachers in my district in the comprehensive literacy framework called Literacy Collaborative. This framework is the basis for the work done by Fountas and Pinnell. I am also an educational consultant and present to K-12 teachers in everything literacy and best practice.
