After 26 years teaching in public schools with elementary students who were gifted, or who had learning difficulties, I am now applying my skills to creating learning materials to engage students of all ability levels, and learning interests.
My teaching style focuses on enriched learning opportunities, differentiating to meet the interests and strengths of all students, and engaging students through all modalities for the most engaging learning growth.
My biggest honor is when I run into former students and they give me a big hug and a smile. It is their love that keeps my passion alive. The privilege of playing a small part in their lives is my shining star.
I have a BA in English Education and an MS in Special Education from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. I also have endorsements in Reading, and ESOL.
My other interests include botany and tropical gardening, writing poetry and prose, reading a variety of genres, traveling and learning about new cultures and people. I also love photography, art and design, and enjoy learning new things.
