TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my 14th year of teaching with the Toronto District School Board in Ontario, Canada. During 9 of those 14 years I have taught International Baccalaureate Higher Level Economics. I am also a teacher of Canadian and American History.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style emphasizes content and creativity. Students are exposed to course content through power points and handouts but the activities included on my store are also intended for students to apply the course material in creative and relevant ways. Many of my lessons in economics focus on very current issues and emphasize the link between real world events and economic theory.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My International Baccalaureate students consistently perform above the world IB average on their final exams. My emphasis on content mixed with practical application really helps them consolidate their learning so that they can transfer this to an exam context.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I am a history major and economics minor but my true passion is teaching economics.
