GameWise

I'm an English/Drama high school teacher with a passion for gamification and experiential learning. I've also been designing games as a hobby for years, so I'm trying to join these two passions in making meaningful resources that are genuinely fun, creative, and ultimately engaging for the next generation. I'm very much into technology and giving students the tools and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. I'm excited to explore the digital landscape as it relates to education and making games and experiences that will ignite students' love of learning.

I believe in making learning as fun and engaging as possible for students, and I usually try to make this happen through games, challenges, puzzles, and riddles that arouse student curiosity and make them think. I try to use verbal encouragement and rewards as a way to incentivize and motivate reluctant students to get in and have a go. If there's one attitude I'd like to pass on to my students it is this: a desire to create beautiful things.

I have a dual bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Music, and a Masters of Teaching. I graduated at the end of 2016 and have been teaching and designing ever since.

I am a father of two adorable little girls, and husband to an amazing woman who I am proud to call my wife. When I'm not listening to folk music or playing with my girls you may find me making escape rooms, designing board games or composing a riddle.
