I am in my 21st year of teaching Family & Consumer Sciences and I still absolutely love what I do! Currently I teach Culinary Fundamentals, Child Development, Career & College Readiness, Interior Design and Financial Management. I do not believe in traditional textbooks for my classroom, as I believe there are better resources out there to convey the information to my students. I do my best to create meaningful and enjoyable lessons for my students that make clear connections to life after high school. Not once in all my years of teaching have I ever had a student ask "why am I learning this?" So, I must be doing something right! I have worked as a satellite teacher in a traditional high school setting although I am employed by our local vocational school, for the past 19 of my 21 years, so I really have the best of both worlds! If there is ever a topic you are looking for that I don't have listed, feel free to reach out to me! Also, I work hard to create meaningful lessons that will be user friendly for TPT purchasers. If you ever have an issue with a product, please reach out to me first! I am more than happy to help make my item something that works great for you! Thank you so much for supporting a fellow educator! I appreciate you so much!
Hands on and fun with real-world application!

I have a bachelor of science in education from Bowling Green State University - 2002. I have a master's of curriculum and instruction from Nova Southeastern University - 2007.
I am a wife, mother of two girls, 15 and 10, and have two dogs. We love to travel, cook and eat good food, and enjoy life! If I wasn't a teacher, I would probably be either an interior designer or financial planner. The passions I have in my home life translate naturally to the subjects I teach, so it is really fun for me to create and execute lessons in my classroom!
