I am a 16 year veteran bilingual/ESL teacher who has experience at all three levels of public education. I also worked as an ESL teacher with adult learners. My primary focus is on bilingualism and bi-literacy. Among my other job titles beyond 'teacher' throughout my educational adventures are: coach, curriculum specialist, and campus administrator.
I am passionate about bilingual and dual language education both as an educator as well as a parent. I never have stopped being a student either, with a boundless thirst for knowledge of language, culture, and the global village we live in. Teachers and students I have been fortunate enough to work with would say I am very accessible, innovative, and always willing to try new things. My latest new thing...dipping my toe into the Teachers Pay Teachers waters.

I am the first person in my family to attend college and also was the first to obtain my Master's degree. Believe it or not, teaching was not what my initial post-college plans entailed and instead I came into it wanting to make a more proactive impact on the world after a few years as a social worker. After enrolling in an Alternative Certification Program and setting on my way with my Harry Wong book in hand, I was hooked.
I am a proud mother of an energetic, bright eight year old who never ceases to amaze and teach me daily. We were both fortunate enough to meet a wonderful man who I married in 2013 to make our family complete.
