I have taught everything from grade 3 to grade 11. This has given me the unique opportunity to see where young writers begin their journey and where they end. Thanks to very confusing curriculum, I was forced to write my own. I currently have curriculum for writers of all levels. I've designed curriculum for home school parents that leads them from the paragraph to the 3-5 page research report. I've broken this curriculum into sections for TeachersPayTeachers to make it accessible for individual grade level teachers. Each lesson is a step-by-step program designed to make teaching grammar and writing as painless as possible...both for the teacher and student. My curriculum is in use on five continents, including the Middle East. It has also been translated into three languages with two publishing companies.

Sometimes I'm the Sage on the Stage while other times I'm the Guide on the Side. Understanding that modeling is one of the most powerful strategies a teacher can use, much of my curriculum applies this philosophy. My lessons first model for the teacher so the teach can model for the student. Our ultimate goal for the students is mastery of the curriculum. That means less of the teacher and more of the student. The teacher becoming a guide on the side is the goal for all our lessons.

I was the Los Angeles Lakers Teacher of the Month in February of 2003. I've been giving writing workshops all over America for the past ten years. Recently, I've been touring home school conventions promoting my new products designed specifically for them. While I'm currently promoting my curriculum to them, it continues to do well with public and private school teachers. Their experience has brought amazing new dimensions to my curriculum.

I earned my bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach. My graduate work was done at UCLA and University of La Verne.

Yes, I'm still a classroom teacher. When I'm old, I'll use my cane to latch onto a desk as they drag me out of the room. I've always written my curriculum for me, first. Every lesson I've sold has been used by me before it's been sold.
