I have been teaching French Immersion and Core French for 7 years to students in Grades 3 through 8. In total, I've been an elementary school teacher for over 13 years in Ontario, Canada.
My goal is to create authentic learning experiences for my students so they enjoy, and internalize, all the French skills they learn in my classes. I like to use technology, drama, music, hands-on activities, and loads of speaking opportunities in my lessons.
Before becoming an elementary school teacher, I worked as a news writer and television news reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and CTV News.
I'm a graduate of The University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I also have a graduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Humber College. My Bachelor of Education is from Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario.
I have 4 young daughters - ages 4, 8, 10, and 12 years old. My oldest 3 girls are enrolled in a French Immersion program. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, writing, reading historical fiction (love Outlander!), and running with our Husky (Willow) and Golden-doodle (Goldie).
