Description
These 26 French reading passages are a great way to get your beginner French students comfortable reading stories with ER, IR, and RE verbs. They are written for Core French or French Immersion students in grades 3 to 8 - with an emphasis on ER, IR, and RE Verbs and common vocabulary words.
Each short story includes 3 versions of the student question sheets. One with questions in English, one with questions in French, and one with multiple choice questions in French.
These stories and question sets are appropriate for beginner Core French students and Immersion classes who are learning, or reviewing, regular ER and IR verbs, as well as regular and irregular RE verbs in the present tense. I use them with my intermediate Core French classes as a reading assessment. With my junior classes, we work through a few stories and question sets together as a class. Once comfortable, I assign the reading passages as independent work.
Please check the preview to assess the difficulty level and see if it matches your student needs.
This bundle includes 3 of my individual French reading comprehension resources:
COMPRÉHENSION DE LECTURE: ER Verbs Present Tense | French Reading Comprehension
COMPRÉHENSION DE LECTURE: IR Verbs Present Tense | French Reading Comprehension
COMPRÉHENSION DE LECTURE: RE Verbs Present Tense | French Reading Comprehension
Each PDF also comes with an interactive option, so you can assign it to your students to complete electronically. Students can type right onto the document. Great for distance learning! Find it by clicking "Open Easel Activity" after you purchase this resource.
BONUS: Included are 2 templates with each item in this bundle for students to use to write their own short story, create their own questions, and then have classmates read & answer.
You can differentiate the question sets based upon the needs of your students.
Each reading passage is the same, but the questions come in 3 versions.
- The first version has short answer English questions and students can answer in English or French. These questions will be the easiest for students who need more support.
- The second version has similar questions, however, the questions are in French and students are directed to answer in French.
- The third version has multiple choice questions so students can locate specific words from the text (nouns, adjectives or verbs). These are great for students who comprehend the text but struggle with writing in French.
Try printing 2 versions and let students choose their own activity.
Merci, and I always appreciate any feedback or comments.
