Brenda Roth

I am in my 18th year of teaching special education in New Jersey. My students have autism as well as other disabilities. While most of my time has been with 6th-8th grade, I also have experience with 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. I cannot imagine my life without these wonderful students. They are truly the most amazing people I have ever met, and they deserve the best.

I believe that all children, regardless of their disability, can and will learn through good teaching and consistent, direct instruction. I like to establish a learning environment that fosters trust and respect, allowing my students to build character while studying all subject areas in a safe classroom. I teach reading, writing, math, social skills, science, and social studies on a regular basis.

I studied special education and psychology at Rutgers University, earning a Masters degree in 2005.

I began working with children with autism when I was 19 years old. I quickly learned just how rewarding this work can be, and that patience and perseverance can go a long way.
