Eleven years in education with a dual certification in English and the discipline social studies has left me with quite the range of teaching: 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade English/Language Arts, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade history as well as Speech and Debate and Psychology.
My classes are all highly interactive. Lessons are designed to immerse students in the subject area using a wide variety of resources, and teacher directed instruction is limited.

My trajectory in education has been incredibly interesting! I began teaching as a middle school history teacher, but was "surplussed" out in the 2008 nightmare. I had suspected that this might occur, and had spent the year taking classes and eventually took the exam in my state to become certified in English. When I was in fact surplussed out, I took a new position teaching English, and spent four years as a high school English teacher. In the recent years, I have taught a wide range of subjects such as psychology and specific classes such as Speech and Debate, in addition to mainstream English and history. In addition, I am a mom, which has strongly rounded out my views of the classroom experience!
