TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've always had a passion for teaching, and a passion for learning. I began my career in French Immersion, and now find myself teaching Core French to Junior and Intermediate students - what a fun challenge! The experience is mind-blowingly awesome. I love passing along my love of language to FSL students. A combination of desperation (I have nothing!) and creativity has resulted in a need to create all of my lessons, handouts and projects that I hand to my students from scratch. I've begun getting more and more creative in my endeavours. I offer these lesson plans and hand-outs to you folks, in this store.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am qualified in primary, junior and intermediate education, as well as special education and French as a second language. As a native Franco-Ontarienne, teaching in French is a passion of mine, and I enjoy teaching students not only the language, but also the culture that drives it. I’m also fascinated by technology in the classroom and how to integrate it purposefully and properly.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

University of Ottawa - Bachelor of Arts with a major in History. Laurentian University - Bachelor of Education with a specialization in junior/intermediate education. ABQ/AQ courses: French as a second language, part 1; Primary; Special Education, part 1.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

When not teaching (or prepping!), I enjoy reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. I often get caught up in the web that is Wikipedia, clicking on countless links just to devour all of the second-hand knowledge (especially when it comes to history). Also, I’m obsessed with musical theatre, and everybody that knows me (even my students) knows that I’m liable to break into song at a moment’s notice …
