Description

Use this fun and original Core French product with your class to get your students excited about using French. This is a Smartboard Notebook file that includes 17 slides that cover an entire unit. Many things are included in the unit - movie trailers, bus schedules, ticket and food costs and finally, an authentic task that brings it all together.

The unit is called "Le cinema". Students use a variety of sources to choose a movie (using movie trailers and movie times, incorporating the 24 hour clock), choose transportation (using bus schedules and the 24 hour clock, again), and calculate money needed (using concession prices and movie ticket prices, while studying how to write the money amount in French). They then write an e-mail to an adult, asking for permission to go to the movies, with their plan in toe.

I personally used this product for intermediate classrooms, and my students loved it! Watching French movie trailers really got them excited, and they felt adequately prepared at the end of the unit to reach their learning goals. It was a hit! It gave the students plenty of opportunity. While my lesson plans are not included, one can easily be built using the Smartboard activities as a guide.
