I am an educator with 8 years of experience across various disciplines. I began my career as a Breakthrough Collaborative Volunteer 9th grade Teacher, 2nd grade teacher's assistance, and homeschooling tutor. Later, I joined Teach For America and earned my FL Teaching Certificate in General Science. Eventually, I earned the honor of being my school's Science Department Chair and Lead STEM Teacher.
I am a big advocate for flipped classrooms and modified flipped classroom. My teaching style involves being a facilitator instead of a lecturer. I focus on engagement and learning from "doing".
Teach For America Corps Member of the Month Model STEM Educator Rookie Teach of the Year Nominee 2017
I hold a BA degree in Psychology from Spelman College and a MS degree in Organizational Learning and Leadership from Barry University.
