TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have five years of experience in public high school teaching, including AP Literature. I've done grading/scoring for both the College Board (AP Literature test) and Pearson (SAT essay). I have over twelve years of college composition instruction with a primary focus on freshman English sequences. I have also homeschooled and taught 4th and 5th grade in private schools. I served two years as a reading interventionist in primary grades.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My greatest strength is encouraging all students to make life connections with reading and writing assignments. I aim to have my students think critically and carefully while making connections to themselves and the outside world. Content is important, but building up confident thinkers is my heart's passion.
