Description

The Enneagram is an ancient personality typing system that has become popular again in mainstream circles. As a framework, it can better help us understand ourselves: our fears, our actions, and our motivations.

For fun, it can also be used to help "type" literary characters. Using this framework will allow students to think critically about characters from their favorite novels and plays.

Synthesis and Evaluation are at the highest levels of Blooms taxonomy, and utilizing the Enneagram as a tool for evaluating literary characters will engage learners by having them categorize, judge, interpret, and summarize the Enneagram descriptions as well as provide textual evidence to support their claims.

This resource is basic enough that you can use it for any book or play; for individual or group work; for a written or oral evaluation of material.

Students will find this entertaining as it relates to the psychology of characters and moves beyond other basic techniques of literary characterization.

This is a three page PDF document. All summaries of each Enneagram type have been credited to Enneagram Worldwide.
