This is a lesson is a close read comparison/contrast lesson that allows students to read about two men who were contemporaries during colonial times and had very much in common, yet their lives followed very different paths. Students read two passages closely --one about Benjamin Franklin and the other about Benjamin Banneker, and then complete a Venn diagram (A Ben Venn) comparing/contrasting the Benjamins.
