Living off the Land Project
This unit is a series of mini-project options designed to increase student voice and choice, and engagement on topics related to the Kumeyaay of the San Diego region. Note: although this project is about the Kumeyaay tribe, the project framework can be adapted to other tribes.Throughout this 4 week unit students will work toward creating several small deliverables and a final product of a native garden; with the option of sharing them out in the final week in an exhibition of learning. Native American Research Report and Project
Students will choose a tribe to research food, clothing, shelter and traditions. Students will write a paragraph about each topic and choose a 3-D or digital project to showcase what they've learned- Powerpoint, scrapbook, diorama or poster.
