I have used this pacing guide for the last few years. I have taken the components of the Daily 5 book and typed it up in a format easier for me to use from day to day. (note the page #'s correspond to the first edition of the book) This is a 5 week launch as prescribed by the 2 sisters. I have also included 2 versions of the checklists I use for checking students in once we get into the "swing" of things. I know this is free, but I'd love to hear your feedback. I use this reading guide with every book I use in guided reading. It has an introductory question, which you can use to assess background knowledge. There are boxes for vocabulary so students can have a reference for those Tier 2 words. On the back I always put an "I can..." statement, text dependent questions, and graphic organizers related to our strategy focus. I'll be uploading some of these graphic organizers later! I just like the consistency from book to book.
