This is a unit that I worked on with my 6th graders. Students learned about indirect and direct characterization, and then they applied what they learned to a movie. Students were given a character to follow throughout the movie, and they took notes on the characters behavior traits, personality traits, and physical characteristics. They in turn completed this packet and turned in a final draft with their work. They truly love this project. You could adapt it to any movie or story!
