Following Directions using listening skills with Curious George
This two day, 30 page Smart Board, presents vocabulary and activities to go along with the book Curious George Rides a Bike. Students learn vocabulary words, and follow step by step picture and written directions to fold a paper boat like George did in the story. Selecting a "Just Right" Book Minilesson Smartboard
This lesson is all about choosing a "just right" book! It goes over the "rules" for picking a book and goes over the three types of books: easy, challenge, and "just right." The lesson includes an active engagement portion where students get six minutes to look through the classroom library and test out the skills and strategies this lesson taught. After six minutes they should have successfully picked out a "just right" book and should be ready for the real test. The library!

Speech Bubble or Thought Bubble
Many students with pragmatic and language disabilities have difficulty understanding when their thoughts/ideas are ones that should be said aloud or whether they should be kept in their heads.
