Guided Notes: Graphing Quadratic Functions (Using Algebra 2 eBook)

I often create guided notes for my students to complete on their own when I am absent. These are great for kids to learn on their own by following the textbook. I also really enjoy giving these guided notes out because it teaches students to refer to textbooks preparing them for college. I also attach some Homework problems for them to practice. These guided notes focus on creating a table to graph quadratics while also teaching them how to find vertex, axis of symmetry, and y-intercept.These gui

I made YouTube tutorials over topics in Algebra 1. I use this for a flipped classroom and also for students to be able to practice at home so they can practice the skills we are learning in class. This way they do not have to just come in to tutorials and can do it at home or on the road. Videos have a lot of "Dora the Explorer" type teaching where they can pause video and try the problem then come back and I do it with them. They get immediate feedback so they know if they know if they did i

Poor Numeracy Skills and the Walls come Tumbling Down - FREE

This white paper is a short discussion on the layering of numeracy skills from elementary school through freshman Calculus. It affords the reader with a 3rd, 7th, Algebraic and a Bounded Calculus problem to illustrate the layering of dependent math skills. My wife understands it without a tremendous math background, so it is not overly complicated.I fail to understand why we allow this situation to continue for our students - school year after school year when there are inexpensive solutions avai

International vs Traditional CCSS Secondary Math Pathways

I created this document by compiling a list of the standards for CCSS Traditional Secondary Math Pathway using Appendix A. I color coding them based on CCSS Algebra 1, CCSS Geometry, and CCSS Algebra 2. Then I created a list for CCSS Course 1, CCSS Course 2, and CCSS Course 3 that shows where the standards from the traditional pathway fall for the international pathway. This document is really helpful when teachers, administrators and parents are having conversation about the two pathways.
